Finally got some sod cut out and got all my soil in the beds today. Have plants coming next week and milorganite, ironite and epsom salt waiting!!! The first picture below are my raised beds. I filled these beds with the local composting companies SLC raised bed mix. SLC Raised Bed Mix is a blend of topsoil, sand, pine bark fine and Black Gold Compost that is specifically designed for use in raised planting beds or planting box gardens. This blend features a lower soil pH and allows better porosity and airspace in the soil for superior root zone conditions. SLC Raised Bed Mix features an organic starter charge. The second picture is where I plan to put my tribute bed. We lost a family dog in the fall a weimereiner named Smoakey. All the day lies in the bed will have the name smoke in it. The last few pictures are of the front beds I had cut out which will be filled with daylilies as well. I will update the thread as I plant.

StlDaylilyGuy,
Looks like you have done a lot of work getting ready for the new plants! It sounds like a good mixture to start out with in your new beds, hoping the dayliles will thrive in it.

I think I'm going plant primal scream along the front sidewalk. Should make a loud statement. Welcome!

I do hope it does better for you up there than it does for me in my garden. I have had it in my garden for three years now and this is what it looked like about a month ago, it is a little better now but now by much.

'Primal Scream' just taken photo. At least it is starting to multiply, one fan trying to escape the photo it looks like.

Looking great Derek!

I'm sorry Primal Scream is a dud for you Larry. I've had it for years by my front walkway and it definitely makes a statement and gives me a long bloom season.

I added one of its children Bob Marley last fall and am looking forward to seeing it in my garden. Perhaps a SEV like Bob Marley will work better for you in Alabama. I think Derek will be fine in his STL location

The raised beds look awesome, Derek and I love your tribute bed idea.

Im my garden, Primal Scream has not flourished either. But I have been blaming it on the fact that I divided it the same year I purchased it (2009) to give some to a friend. However, that was nine years ago and it is probably just now 5-6 fans. On a good note though, sometimes slow multipliers are not so bad because they don't need dividing so soon Smiling

I stand corrected. I only have 3 fans of Primal Scream after 9 years (and dividing once in the first year)

Below are a few orders I have received, I missed getting pics on a few as the better half had to do some of the planting while I was out of town.

I also received some very nice orders from the following to name a few:
Floyd Cove
Slightly different nursery
Dragons mead daylilies
Northern lights daylilies
CT daylily
Paul Genho
Reilly Gardens
And If I forget anyone it's not because I didn't get nice plants, I haven't been disappointed with an order yet.

A few more pictures to share below. The first picture is of the raised beds as they currently look minus Hacksaw, Spacecoast boundary waters and Spacecost Divide and conquer which are soaking in some superthrive that's in the blue tub in the background. nodding . The second picture is the scape on what I believe will be my first bloom, the plant is Smoke gets in your eyes. The 3rd picture is just a closer look at my eyed and edged bed, I am trying to keep the beds separated by color, although I will have a hodge podge bed.
