I purchased a Japanese wisteria 6 years ago that was already 5 years old.. it has never flowered despite my babying it. Last fall I pruned the heck out of it and this morning when I went to the garden I saw these buds...are these going to be flowers or will I be disappointed again and just have leaves?

I am a wisteria killer. I had mine way over seven years and it climbed all over my roof but no flowers. Then it died and I only had sticks everywhere.
