Clint Brown asked that we have a thread to discuss the wonderful Delosperma plant. There are so many new ones out there now.
Being the researcher that he is, Clint will find us some real treasures I'm sure.

Ah, my general neck of the woods anyway. I'm in Clarksville.

I got Eye Candy this last Sat. from Al's Garden Center. He had some different ones that I had not seen around here before.

I found a couple more new ones to me while there. One is named after Panayoti Kelaidis, from the Denver Botanic Gardens. Boy was I excited about finding that one.

Can't wait to see photos of your Clint. Be sure to add them to the database here at ATP. There are so few photos entered for this amazing plant species.

Do you remember those brightly colored new ones I picked up last year? They ended up being new varieties D. Perfect Orange, D. Pink Ribbons and D. Carmen Lucia. I took cuttings and have them blooming in the basement right now. They bloom constantly. I'm not too sure they will be reliably hardy here.

I've got others, but I don't have D. Davyi or Kelaidis yet, but I probably will by the end of this summer since they are available locally. I like Delosperma.

Thanks guys. looks like I'm getting started on another addiction. I think I will get some and see. I always wonder about them when I saw them in flower magazines.

I live near Pittsburgh, Pa. zone 6 and all alone here. Don't know any garden friends here.

There are some delosperma that are hardy to zone 5 and others to zone 6. You should be able to find some that would do well in your area.
Let us know what you get. There are some really awesome new ones out there.
