Hi,
I have two pineapple plants that are about 6 months old. I grew them from the tops. I just transplanted them into larger, 21" x 16" pots with garden soil, compost, perlite, sand and 8-8-8 fertilizer.
They have been in these new pots for a week and I watered them well when I replanted them. Should I start fertilizing now? One article I read said no fertilize for the first 6-8 weeks.
They are in great condition, the top 1-2" of the soil is dry, but I have a moisture / Ph meter and below 2" the soil is moist.
I have a dry fertilizer that I haven't used yet, Citrus Gain, and my plan was to spread it around the plant (but not touching the base) and then water.
My question is do I water the top of the plant so it's moist, and add fertilizer, or just water?
Thans

Hi Steve

Water the soil, only when is dray, Pineapple need sun and dry place.
add fertilizer just on the soil, not the top of the plant.
Pinneapple take 9 months to fruit.

Hope this help

9 months? Most people wait at least 2 years when cultivating in a pot.
