I would like to grow Rue for the butterflies, but really only have a mostly shady place for it in my flower bed. Has anyone successfully grown Rue in shade?

Hey, Stephanie. As you might recall, I'm not the most experienced gardener, but here goes. I grow rue in partial shade because I don't have a lot of sun. When I tend to it, I have pretty good luck. Since I generally grow it in a container, it's more of an annual than a perennial. In fact I just bought a little 4" pot about a week ago. That means I still have the tag and can see if it has any clues.

Mine gets sun about 5 hours a day then shade and does well. It didn't even blink at the freeze this year and looks great. I have it in the ground.
