Excited for this Spring to arrive, even in our above average downpour rainy 2018.
Last year planted new iris gardens including the nod to "Fancy Tales".
Searched out heirloom iris I had in the 90's along with new beautiful plants.
Discovered many iris vendors with a great variety of plant selections, rhizome sizes, communication skills and shipping techniques.
A fun journey, I learned a lot along the way and met many interesting folks.
So I have over 100 iris, only lost 1 this very wet winter.
I tented over my "Fancy Tales" with bamboo sticks, mesh plastic fencing, to keep out birds, and topped the bamboo sticks with a plastic pot/plastic grocery bag umbrella. Worked Great!!
Doing a log of all the iris as they bloom with pics.
So my first iris has bloomed:
"Dwarf Cherry Garden"
From Nita's Garden on Ebay.
Nita has a bid Ebay site, with lots of historic iris, I think many from Cooley's Iris in the 90's. Nita is a great communicator, her prices are very fair, often includes a BONUS iris, shipping quick and the rhizomes are large and healthy, out of Idaho.
Highly recommend purchasing from Nita
Thanks for reading my notes
