Please Help: Failing Peace Lilly. The plant was full and gorgeous but the roots were growing out the bottom of the the pot so I decided to repot it and separate it into two. I did it just like it says on the site and it hasn't been the same since. It's drooping and yellowing and I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do. It sentimental to me. It's the last thing I have from my 96 year old aunt that passed and I don't want to lose it. Can anyone help me bring it back to health?

Can you show a picture of the inside of the pots? What kind of potting mix did you use? How much water did you give them? So many questions, but it will help the members help you

Your Peace Lily is reacting to the root division and repotting that you did. The roots are the equivalent of a plant's circulatory, respiratory and nervous system all rolled into one. When the roots are disturbed then the plant will be traumatized - temporarily, at best and permanently depending on how the root surgery was done. I don't know what advice you received on this site.

Yours looks to be in pretty decent shape so far and will probably recover slowly. Warm temps and a location close to a window will help. You will have to pay very close attention to your watering as the traumatized roots are extra vulnerable to both under and over watering.

Thanks for the advice. I believe they did need time to bounce back. They are looking a lot better. But now I've noticed the leaves turning dark and kind of wilting, not dry. This is new. I have been pruning those leaves . Can you offer any advice on this?

That is residual leaf damage from the repotting. You may lose some other leaves as the plant slowly recovers. Just trim off any discolored leaves and look for healthy new leaves as a sign that you are on the right track. If new leaves come in discolored you have a more serious problem with the roots.

I do see a lot of healthy new leaves. I'm going to keep an eye on it hopefully can't doesn't loose too many more leaves. Thank you WillC .
