I live in Houston and grew this girl from a cutting. I brought her in during the winter and now she's leafing, took her back out. Only ONE branch is leafing and now it has this. The other branches have black on the ends, but I'm mostly concerned with these "bird pecking" areas. What can I do? Thank you!!

I have not seen this before, but you definitely have a case of black tip rot, (clear in picture no. 3) so maybe something has been eating the rotting tissue.
I would cut these back until you see clean white tissue. You will lose the chance of blooms for this season but the rot can spread if not stopped. Sorry....

Okay, I am going to do that today. It makes me sad, but I don't want her to die! Can you suggest something safe spray on her for various issues like bugs, disease et.? Thank you again for replying.

I use the 3 in 1 from Bayer which will take care of most issues.

You can also coat the cut areas with cinnamon powder too, a natural fungicide that also helps heal wounds on plant tissue. I've been using cinnamon for quite a few years now on orchids and other plants when they show signs of fungal infection. I've also heard people talk about using it as a rooting hormone when rooting plant cuttings ... I don't know if it promotes roots to grow but it will heal the cut ends of the stems that you stick in the soil.

I have a large container of cinnamon that I bought at Sam's Club a few years ago (it will probably last forever.) I keep it in a cabinet in the garage with all of my gardening supplies.
