One of my favorite dips, tall sturdy scapes, with large blooms. It puts up a lot of scapes even if the bud count and branching are not great. The plant has shown very good resistance to rust. It definitely makes an impression in the garden.

Victorian Princess is a very pretty eye catching daylily. Blooms in light shade.

The problem with Victorian Princess is that the blooms lack substance and do not wear well. Very thin and flimsy.
Full sun melts her.

This is one daylily if I could have my money back I would gladly return her.

May joy and happiness be found in your garden!

I find that strange, because she holds up well in my garden, and I thought she had decent substance. I am going to take another look, I have three clumps blooming now. They are all in full sun.
So I went out and looked and felt of the blooms on 'Victorian Princess', at two thirty in full sun temp at 87 deg. they still looked and felt like plants with nice substance. Of course they were not great substance, but as good or better than most dips.

So in my garden anyhow, it is a very good performer, sorry to learn that it does not do so well everywhere.

Victorian Princess has been a favorite here. I was surprised to realize I had not done a review of this one since I have had it for a couple of years, but I will rectify that now. I bought two clumps of Victorian Princess during an Oakes sale in June of 2020, and the plants have thrived, increased, and bloomed beautifully ever since. Victorian Princess is also one of the more rust-resistant plants I have; it only shows rust way late in the season if at all. I have heard that it occasionally reblooms but not here, at least not yet. It typically blooms for four weeks or so in May here, but it sends up a lot of blooms--all perfect and just lovely. Strongly recommended.
