I had noticed a root that was slightly uncovered so I covered it back up the root looked really large like a piece of ginger. I don't know if this is a plant that was seeded from another or if it's just a weed. Any information would be great. I added a few boxes of wildflower seed now I don't know what is a weed and what is a flower.....zone 6...i think it looks like the plant next to it.(garden Phlox.. I think)

The plant on the left could be Pokeweed.

Yeah I planted that one last year. I didn't know if it went to seed and was growing next to the original plant, unless it was something mixed with my fountain grass. My other fountian grass had another plant in with it and they are now growing together. I'm excited to see what it is.
