It seems to have taken an awfully long time this year, but there are finally some spots of color on the hill.
I keep a log book of the bloom each year and so far this season we are about 10 days to two weeks behind last year. And now, everything seems to be getting ready to bloom at once and all out of normal sequence. oh well...it beats six more weeks of winter!

Nice Pam.
Seems like you are behind this area of PA. IB's about done, many TB's done or almost there. Hot weather will speed up the blooms but also the demise of them.

I really like Game On. Haven't seen it before.

Great photos from the hill.

I wonder why the hybridizer would name it Mean Sharon. Poor iris. Does yours bully the other iris? Big Grin

Dave the garden is farther along than the first picture shows. still hasn't caught up with last year though. I am behind in posting this year. The heat from the last two days has increased the bloom dramatically!

Yeah Leslie, I think that poor flower has a complex..... haven't had to break up any fights yet though!

Pam ~ Maybe if Mean Sharon had another picture put in the database, she wouldn't feel so left out. nodding (There is only one picture of her in there!)

BTW, beautiful pictures...the irises and the fields! Lovey dubby

The weather here has been all over the place - hot, cold, rainy and humid. Really has the iris confused as to who should go first!

We also had little snow over the winter and lots of heavy rain intermixed with freezing and thawing. The hillside garden suffered a good bit of erosion in the steeper places. I am expecting a lot less bloom in the older established beds as a result.

The good news is that there have been lots of buds forming on the newer stuff!

Sorry to take so long between postings. Just lots of stuff going on here. Son and his girlfriend recently bought their first house and we have been helping them do some remodeling. Also had two foreign riding instructors visit to give clinics at the barn where I work part time. Great clinics, but lots of work!

Trying to keep up with the garden....never seems to be enough time. The garden is pretty much finished for the year. The last couple to open popped out.today. I did not have the mass bloom that I usually see, but still managed to take over 1500 pictures - so I guess it was successful!

I will try really hard to keep the pictures posted to things that are new to me...or pretty ...or kinda weird, strange and odd. Angel

Rio Rojo made an appearance in the rain. Still an impressive red.

This was a surprise. I have been waiting for two years to see Wild Wings bloom. Evidently a longer wait is needed...

That looks very much like Blyth's Room For Romance. It has odd coloring.
