Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Sunday Gloves')

I added Sunday Gloves to my Prayer Garden after purchasing it at a local garden center. So far it's bloomed nicely and is very pretty. Good solid plant so far.

I have had Sunday Gloves' in my garden now just over for 4 years, March 2014.
This was the plant about 2 months later with a bloom.

Sometimes the blooms are almost white, other times they have more green.

The plant has had rust on it some years, but is mostly free of rust. None this year so far.
The plant has multiplied at a reasonable rate, I don't recall dividing it yet, but it is now a large clump. The blooms do tend to often be low in the foliage, but it has enough blooms to put on a nice show with many of them up just above the foliage. The scapes are pretty short here, and I would prefer them to be taller.

Here is a photo taken today of 'Sunday Gloves', you can see some blooms deep down in the foliage, some up higher and then some where they should be, up out of the foliage.

this plant is a stellar performer here, it puts on a good show and reblooms here. it gets to it's 27 inch height here and I like the way it can be used in the garden with darker colors to help make them pop out more in my garden bed that it is in
I will have to divide it this year if not definately next year as I have had it since 2012 or 2013 if my memory serves me right. this is one of the older daylilies that I have in my garden and it will always be in my garden

I have Sunday Gloves in my garden. It does not get to the registered height for me. I agree with Larry, the blooms will vary in color. Overall, I'm happy with Sunday Gloves and consider it a keeper.

Sunday Gloves is a very old Daylily for me. I originally bought it in Vermont in the mid nineties. I was taken by the name and I liked the bloom. It's been in the front bed, where it has steadily had less light and more competition. I only saw one bloom on it this year, on July 8th. I'm pretty sure that I should just remove all Daylilies from the front, but they are so pretty there when they do actually bloom…

Well, no bloom at all in 2022 😢

2023…Sunday Gloves is back! Blooming from July 9-20, I had 11 blooms this season. It's a really nice, old fashioned off white.
