I keep the cups of mine filled, and have for years for several kinds of Broms, but they may or may not be the same kind for which advice is being sought. My climate is totally different from that of Oregon also, so specific advice may or may not be relevant for unknown Broms in Oregon. To offer more specific anecdotes, I would wait to learn the species in question, or at least the genus, and more about the conditions. Bromeliaceae has a lot of various genera.
