hi, I am hoping to plant some seagrass on my south/west facing terrace in NYC. It gets direct sun from 12pm-6pm and can be windy. Are there any specific types of seagrass that would be best? What size planter would I need?

Not real sure what you mean by 'sea grass.'

I have my ribbon grass in a large pot on my patio, it grew huge in one season, she gets 6 hours of direct sun. I dont see why you couldnt plant the miscanthus grass on your terrace. They do need a lot of water and must have drainage holes. I use potting soil and perlite 50/50 mix. Hope that helps Smiling

I have 2 types that are shorter and would probably work on your terrace. I would go with a 5 gal planter with drainage holes.

Maiden Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Super Stripe')

Maiden Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Morning Light')

There are more out there and others may have better suggestions.
