I've been inoculating my cucumbers, squash, watermelons, cantelopes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant with bacillus pumilus for the last three years with good results. It makes the plants repell the beetles. For the cucumbers, watermelons, cantelopes and squash I apply the drench to the roots after they have their first true leaves and have been thinned. For the tomatoes, peppers and eggplant I drench the trays of plants before transplant and use bottles of drench to water them in. Claud
