Thread OP
Wauseon , Ohio Northwest Oh
I am not sure if I have Hydrotran spelled right but I heard that you should put Hydrotran in your Hanging Baskets and this will draw he moisture out of the air and help keeping the Hanging Baskets moist during the day and help you from going dry during the day. have you heard of this?
Heard this on Gardening With Angelo from Cleveland, Ohio on his Radio program on Saturday June 9th.
If you could help in out on this.

I know some people use Hydroton (balls of expanded clay) as an ingredient mixed in with potting soil to aid in aeration and drainage and it's used in hydroponic gardening for plants being grown in water but I've never heard of using it below the soil level at the bottom of hanging baskets. I don't know if it would aid in keeping the soil moist, due to the fact that it dries out rather quickly so you'd probably have to check the soil on a regular basis and regulate your water regimen accordingly.

You may find helpful information about Hydroton on these pages:
