5 of the potatoes start sprouting on the kitchen counter so I stuck it in the dirt int the garden. Today , I decided to rip the plant out because they start looking ratty. These are the results.

How long did they take? I did the same thing last fall, and the leaves are still green. I've been burying it as it grows.

Well of course your zone plays into it. I planted end of February and harvested end of May. But we had a warm spring that moved quickly to hot. I was also trying to out harvest a pocket gopher. Normally, for my zone, 4 months, maybe longer if you plant earlier.

I planted it in med March. It never bloom and I got tired of mounding compost. I have a row of Yukon gold potato that we bought at lowes. We'll see if I get potatoes later.
