Has anyone grown this Beauty? It's on my "want list". Supposedly smells of Cinnamon Red Hots ! Mmmm The photos on-line look too good to be true. ha

I have it. It lives up to the hype, I think it is the nicest 'Purple' out there, many are too pale and look washed out.
I've not noticed such a specific scent though.

Well, I just discovered my Black Purple _croaked Sighing! When it arrived the graft wasn't healed properly allowing a big gap where the (pencil thin) rootstock met... Was concerned, so used some Latex "plastic wood" to seal up....

All Summer it just sat there only producing 2 baby leaves…. Was hoping it would make it through dormancy, but wasn't meant to be....

**Hetty: If you still have your Black Purple... May I place an order for a rooted replacement to be shipped in the Spring?

I got mine from Josh Henderson / Twister Tropical Nursery as well. First time blooming in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. (October / November). Just like Hetty, I can't confirm the scent.

I don't keep track anymore. I had some die and I replanted some. The last time we cleaned the property I think my mother counted 550 or so.

A nursery isn't in my plans. I would rather have a huge Plumeria "Botanical" Garden.

That would be neat too. Well, you could occasionally sell cuttings online! You have a lot of types people would pay big bucks to have a cutting.

It's a lot different here in Mexico. People won't pay big bucks and I really don't want to ship to the USA...... but who knows. I never thought I would buy land to just plant plumerias..... so everything is possible.

If you ever do sell cuttings to the US, I'd buy them.

I consider Josh a very good friend. He helped me tremendously and he really goes the extra mile for his clients to give the best service possible. He supposed to visit me in October but unfortunetally because of a freak accident just a few hours before his flight, him and his wife couldn't come. Sad Hopefully in the beginning of next year. Glad you are getting your Black Purple replaced.

I agree. Josh at Twisted Tropical is a really good guy and has located a few variegated plumeria for me in the last year.
