I love my palm trees here in Florida. But they do require maintenance, which for the most part I don't mind doing. But my Queen Palms can really kick my butt. They are almost too tall for me to handle, but I am determined not to have to hire someone yet. I don't trim the seed pods before they open because I can't get at them. And then they are such a mess, from the blossoms you see in the front to the poisonous seeds you see hanging in the back. Thank goodness I don't have animals to worry about eating them when they drop. Because it is quite a chore to get my big ladder out and position it to get at these and the fronds that have died I only do it a few times a year. BUT I STILL LOVE MY PALM TREES!

I use to have mature palm trees at my old house and remember what a pain in the butt the large blooms were. I feel for you!

I have a love hate relationship with Japanese maples... I LOVE them but they don't always love me. They are finicky in my conditions. However, I will never give up....

I grow freesia every year, and every year except 2 (once in Pennsylvania and once in West Virginia) it was too hot too soon and they perished either by heat damage or by drowning. But I try them ever year anyway no matter where I live.

Right now I'm having a love hate relationship with my fig tree and my lemon tree.

This year the fig is producing more than ever. The birds are getting more than I will ever get which is fine but I'm having a hard time not viewing it as waste. I made jam one year but I don't really like fig jam, I prefer them fresh. It will be very interesting to see how the compost turns out this fall.

Every year its a constant battle against disease and pest with the lemon tree but but when they ripen its party time and I have plenty of people who want them so I don't have much waste.

It is my Passiflora - cearulea and dark purple one. The blooms are amazing but they have underground runners that show up everywhere.

I have a love hate relationship with all self-sprouting plants that I can identify and grab my attention to grow bigger. I have to grow them and can't ignore them. But I hate that I already have too many and no more space.

@honeyx4, I never really cared for eating fresh Figs, but my Mother could make a Strawberry flavored jelly out of fresh Figs that was out of this world. She is gone now about 15 months ago and I never got the recipe on how to make it. Big mistake because I am loaded with Figs coming on.

@pikshk, Beautiful Passi, wish just one of my would start blooming, never been so late to do so.
