...... just curious to see if anyone else is terminal, like me. Currently sitting at 900+ cultivars myself -- mostly TBs but definitely looking to diversify into the medians, but I did get rid of a lot of older varieties. The topic question include any and all iris types.

Nowhere near the number you grow, and I grow way too many.... How on earth do you take care of them all?!!
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

I've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 850 bearded Iris. Working on paring down that number some.. So far, I haven't been successful Hilarious!

Since we keep ordering more irises and wanting the new ones every year, there's only one logical answer to that question.

I am nearly at 1000, *Blush* Most than half are SDB's but i have some in all the bearded classes and a few in the beardless classes. I am sharing some of my older ones away to others who are iris guardians. I am at the point where many new ones look like ones I already grow. Shrug!

Timothy, I get up and go to work, pause, work, pause, work...... weeding is my form of exercise. I bend, pull, dig, heave, hoe, lift, load, carry, toss..... if it were an Olympic event I would bring home the gold! Thumbs up Hilarious!

I'm having to face the fact that I have TOO MANY IRISES! My plant list says I have more than 750, but some have died or disappeared. My husband wants to severely limit the amount of water devoted to flowers. We have issues. Angry He's growing enough cucumbers for an army! - and we know they love water. On the other hand, he sometimes does a lot for the irises.
However, when I dig up an iris and see that the dry roots don't look healthy to me,
I get annoyed

What's your soil like, Jan? Ours is horrible acid clay in at least some places here, and in those spots the irises don't do as well in it as ones grown in pots; when you dig them up, there are hardly any roots. (There are other places in the garden, though, where the irises are doing fine, even though the soil has a lot of clay there, too. Shrug! )

Yeah, we have acid clay (and rocks) in the piedmont area of Maryland, but irises do fine here. We get lots of rain in the spring, but summers tend to be hot and dry. Our winters can be cold. Seems like it's always either too hot or too cold, but that doesn't seem to faze the irises. Borers are the worst problem we face here.

I have 80 named bearded iris, 2 species, 2 reticulatas, 4 dutch iris plus one Californian which should arrive any day now. I also have 84 seedlings. It's amazing how many irises one can cram into a suburban garden.

A spring to look forward to in a year or two. There's only a few seedlings which look mature enough to bloom this year.

After a hard spring where heavy rains killed many, I have about 850 iris. All types of bearded then JI's, LA's, and a few Species X and Sibs. And about 100 ordered. If I didn't work all week it is scary what I might end up with. Already have a hard time keeping up.
