Thread OP

Hi, this is mpk from india. My adenium was 2 yrs old. It was healthy even though it did not have a fat caudex. I saw few posts on cutting the root to have a fat caudex (mebbe I was greedy). I had cut the root and applied cinnamom powder, dried it for few days and replanted it. Unfortunately it rained for few days and the plant developed root rot. So, I made a clean cut again, applied cinnamon liberally and dried it for 4 days before replanting. 2 weeks later (now), I see the remaining leaves have dried and there is no new sprout. Examined the (flat caudex) root, it looks healthy even though it feels a bit soft. The flat caudex has a hollow center now but scrapping did not show any rot. Is this normal? Will my adenium sprout?
I feel terrible for making the cut when I see the pic of it few weeks back. It was hale and healthy. Now, I just have a stem. Have attached the before and after(current scenario) pics. Kindly let me know If I could do anything better to aid in its recovery. Thank you guys

I usually water and fert once a week. I hang the wounded up for a few days and then plant. You have in shade while it heals, right .
