Okay. I am officially and *tentatively* committing to an Official Texas NGA Round Up. (OTNGARU for those into acronyms)if the creek don't rise. Pencil me in for a Round up of all NGA Members especially in and around (Houston) Texas for July 2019. ETA OR MAYBE JUNE? THERE IS A PLUMERIA SHOW IN JUNE, TOO. Why HOT July? Because there will be 2 Plumeria shows we can work the date(s) around, cool Maas Nursery near by, and give us time to travel on to some other nurseries. Trouble is, Houston is so wide and spread out and it takes 45 mins in either direction to and from one good nursery to another and we'd STILL be in Houston! But I will try to draw up an efficient map so we aren't wasting time with a great lunch place in between. We have good web of freeways and fast Toll Roads..and traffic shouldn't be bad on a weekend.

My house is small but I should have 2 bedrooms (one double and two twins or a King via trundle) available by next July FCFS. And also upstairs, the Gameroom Queen blow up mattress with a full bathroom all to yourselves. You're lucky we are Empty Nesters...almost. And the living room sofa if someone can handle that. We do have many, MANY (Somewhat LOUD) pets in the house. So consider your bird(s), dog(s),and turtle allergy. I offer this in case you don't want to wake up earlier than 7am. The show in Seabrook TX starts at 9:30. We leave my house at 8am. If you come a day ahead, we can have double the fun and maybe get into some trouble via Raspberry Rum? I tip my hat to you.

ETA: We also have many inexpensive hotels nearby LaQuinta, Scottish, Courtyard by Marriot, etc...

I am an excellent event planner, if I do say so myself. Thank You! I agree Rolling on the floor laughing So let me get on this and let me know if you are interested.

Sounds fun. Unfortunately the high speed rail between Dallas and Houston isn't finished yet.

Especially in the summer. I have one suggestion: "Dress naked".

IDK about committing to this folks...So much has been happening lately. Some personal things, the flooding, and DH health issues. I'm sorry.

It's ok, Cheryl. It's a bad time for me to try to get away too. Maybe we can all plan for it another year. It really would be fun to meet each other.

No worries, Shady. Houston doesn't sound too inviting in the summer. Now I could go for somewhere in the mountains. Like Colorado. Or, hey! What about New Mexico? 😝

Hey listen...my friends and I go to the Plumeria show every year in Seabrook TX. We will be going again for the second show, July 20th 9:30. If anyone would like to meet up there I would be so happy to meet you! We spend time at the show, pack up the car, and drive 10 mins over to Maas Nursery. We usually wander around there for an hour or so, looking for that special something we didn't know we needed. Then we have lunch at Pier 8 Seafood Market.

The show/sale opens at 9:30...but we'll get there early. Last time we got there at 9:15. They opened the doors at 9!! Whaaaat?! It was packed. Carts were FULL already by the time we got there! I wondered what we missed out on?? So this time, we'll get there earliER!! Note: Bring cash. The Credit Card line is LOOOOOOONG.

Despite many shady areas, it's gonna be stifling HOT at the nursery so dress accordingly. I sweat bullets!

Then Pier 8 Seafood and Fish Market, 10 mins away is super casual. The tables inside in the A/C are few. So we usually sit outside on picnic tables. It's in the shade often with a Gulf breeze as we are on the Bay. But it's HOT outside, I won't lie. But the food is good. It's a, "You Buy-We Fry (by the pound)" kind of place. Check them out on Yelp.
