"Dahlia 'Jersey Beauty', Common Name: dahlia, Size: 6ft., B-FD-pk Class(2004) Awards(6), Breeder: (Waite,1924), USDA Hardiness Zone 8, Michigan Bloom Month 8

An heirloom variety from New Jersey. Old House Gardens in Michigan carries it. It's a tall skinny plant (somewhat ugly) that has beautiful pink flowers. Saving the tubers over Winter can be iffy. My plants have never generated large tuber clumps. Purchased original tuber in 2009. Did not save tubers in 2017. Here are 2 photos from 2017.

I love Heirloom Dahlias and your photos are lovely. Here is one that overwinters in my zone 6b garden. Actually it originated in KY. Mrs. I. De Ver Warner.

Wayside 2007, huge flowers. A 1950s heirloom. Bronze Flower. First planted in 2007. Stunted growth in 2015. I can see why this one has lasted so long.

Frank, I'm just starting to research Heirloom Dahlias, and have ordered a few from Old House Gardens for spring. I appreciate so much seeing your photos and comments.

I ordered some really old ones from Old House Gardens years ago. Dated back to the 1800's or so. Kept them a few years then bit by bit lost them over winter.
From -60 Alaska to +100 Virginia. Wahoo
