Got this one last fall from @stilldew. Nice little clump put up two scapes this year. Blooms were lovely, but this one was absolutely pod refusing this year. I did set a couple of pods with its pollen. Never hung up, opened late evening, lovely sunny yellow, big blooms!

I received two fans fo 'Planet Claire' from Stilldew on Sept. 8th 2017, it did bloom this year and also rebloomed. It is still only two fans and the scapes were short and need to get stronger. I did use the pollen to make some crosses, but have been told it will not set pods.
Still two fans, after being cleaned up.

In 2017, bud count was low. This year, it was better, around 7, which for here, isn't really bad. An attractive unusual form. Update: Bud count is better and bloom is impressive!

I've had Planet Claire since 2015 and it has been in the same spot in the garden since then. It has multiplied slowly, but is now a decent clump. Sometimes a slow multiplier is okay when you have no plans to do anything with it. I have never seen rust on PC.

I never realized that the blooms started opening the day before until this year. I thought it was just an odd occurrence, but Boyd's comment about the blooms opening the day before makes sense.

I guess because of the blooms beginning to open the day before is why it is an EMO (early morning opener). The blooms are fully open by the time I get out to take pictures. I don't think I've ever recorded branching and bud count on it. The scapes are well above the foliage and hold up the large blooms very well. It is next to South Seas in this picture and they both get about their registered height of 30".

The huge flat blooms can sometimes get in the way of each other since the scape seems to be mostly top-branched. It does have nice substance that holds up to the rain.

I love the flat open blooms and that green throat. It has a lot going for it, but I'm not sure I like the look of the next day's blooms crowding the current blooms. It can appear a little messy at times when several are blooming.

I received two fans of Planet Claire from Frostline Daylilies in April 2023. By October, it was one tiny struggling fan. Not sure what went wrong but I'm not sure this one will survive the winter.
