Does the National Gardening Association not have a policy on the promotion of native species? I was very disappointed when reading a piece on cultivation of plums advice was given on how to grow Japanese and European plums but the author reccomended removing native plums (to prevent the spread of disease.) The OKI Wild Plum Conservation Project, lead by Indigenous Landscapes is something that your contributors might be interested in. I reside in western Kentucky.
