I take off the whole leaf when I see squash bug eggs or hatchlings and weight them down with a small rock in the bottom of a bucket of water. The next time I go out to check I just dump and refill the bucket.

I hadn't seen them much until last summer. If you do see one, look for the eggs on the underside of the leaves and rub them off. Soapy water will take care of the bugs! in case you didn't notice, those squash bugs in the pic aren't moving any more!! The brown was an adult and the gray, a developing nymph.
