Is Holly-tone 4-3-4 slow release fertilizer OK to use for a crape myrtle or do I need to buy a higher ratio?

There is no preferred fertilizer NPK. If your soil has no minerals defficiencies, you can just let it feed off existing minerals, decomposing mulch or any organic fert. Some years, I give them some cottonseed meal. These are not fertilizer hungry shrubs like roses.
