Have any of you used a rooting hormone powder _when transplanting ?

Wondering if dusting the rootball in the Spring (once they show signs of breaking dormancy) when I up-pot all of my Plumerias to their 5 gallon "squat" pots.

I really have no faith in them but I know some people do. Similar to Superthrive.

I too haven't been very impressed with Superthrive Sad Having up-potted most of my Plumerias during the Summer, I haven't seen any noticeable increase in their root structures.

I had several hundred orchids a few years ago and never saw any benefits with Superthrive despite all the testimonials from some orchid growers. I did quit using it after a few years.

I used rooting hormone before but my plumerias root just fine without it. I don't think I will buy it again.

I tried the trick with planting an egg in three different pots that I was rooting plumeria in this year. All three do have a giant healthy root structure after only a few months. I either got lucky or the egg really did give them a boost. I had forgotten that I had done that until I took them out of their pots for their winter rest and was pleasantly surprised by all the great root growth.

This is the very new one for me. Have never heard of planting a egg with a rooting. Could you explain the procedure for me. Thanks

There was never any odor from the egg. I just potted the cuttings up like normal but added a whole uncooked egg to the soil by the bottom of the cutting. I just bagged them dirt and all and did not dig around to see what the egg looks like now. Maybe I will do that tomorrow. Here is an article that explains how it supposed to work.

According to this you just might be onto something but chicken eggs are a lot cheaper Hilarious!
Ostrich eggs are approximately 6 inches in circumference, about 5 inches long and weigh around 3-5 pounds. An ostrich egg is equal to approximately 24 chicken eggs. The ostrich lays the largest eggs of any bird living today.

Doing this in the middle of the hot summer I was slightly worried that I might hear my plumeria pots cheeping though Rolling on the floor laughing

Audrey, Thank you for the link very interesting. I also would be worried about the smell rotten egg. I have smelted many a foul odors but that had to do with my work, sure don't want to smell them with a hobby.
It would be quite funny with the cheeping during the summer coming from a pot.
