There's a 'not well known in the U..S.' red lavender, so I'll go with lavender.

Remember, it is dangerous to the environment and ILLEGAL in MANY states (CA is one) to mail plants/bulbs/cuttings in. Let’s all practice Do No Harm while we walk this earth and find other ways to connect to one another through gardening.

Well..as I was posting, Alana posted. I got a notification that someone posted.....

Janine - there's also Helmsdale Lavender. Called burgundy, but a few sites call it purple-red and show photos that look more purple. One of those 'probably have to buy in person to be sure you get what you want plants'. I'd shared a gorgeous photo on a Facebook page I manage that I can't for the life of me find now (you can't search FB pages).
