I have this small cactus which is growing quite well but I am wondering if it is time to move up to a bigger container? It seems to be doing well even though it appears "crowded" Does anyone have an ID for it? All help is appreciated, if I do need to report, should I wait until the spring or make the move in winter? thanks

Some species of Huernia would be my guess. @stush2019

I believe Spring would be better to repot.

Good guess Hamwild. It is a Huernia schnideriana, or seedling of such. That is a very well grown plant. Tell us you secret and soil type. I could never grow mine that well. And yes it would need transplanted soon. I think the sooner the better. Watch you don't break it apart or disturb the roots.
I can't give you any advise with growing after you showed us your skills on this one. Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

I agree, Stush. I've grown it and other huernias and they all end up looking brown and bedraggled. I've never seen such a pretty green one! I'd love to know how you are growing it.

Karen and Carebear, I wish I could tell you my secret but it's still a secret to me! I used a well drained potting medium and added some small gravel at the bottom of the pot. The longer stems are 2 yrs. old and all the smaller ones are this years growth. I have never had so many blooms. I do keep it in direct sun all day and lately it has been getting daily rain showers. I did occasionally use miracle grow but I purposely left it alone when I saw how well it started to grow this spring.

Thanks all for the advice, I will carefully repot and bring it in once our temps get cold.
