I went from no Davisson daylilies to these from the lily auction NO BOYS ALLOWED and REV IT UP already here nice large healthy fans.

Best of all my large package from Judy Davisson arrived today with huge generous amounts of fans. The package contained BETTY SPAGHETTI, DIVAS IN DIAMONDS, MEAN GREEN, ROWDY GIRLS and LOST IN THE TOY STORE. Have to get more buckets out to soak all these big babies.

Can't wait to see these all bloom. I already wrote to Judy to get on a wait list for another cultivar that is sold out. Daylily addiction I am so there as my total count keeps going up up up. Actually I will be removing some old not so great performers in to make room, my neighbor lady likes them for at the lake.

I never was much into unusual forms or spiders until the last few years, still don't like spiders that are really skinny. I do have some of the Goldner's here and of course they do well. Judy using some Goldner's in her breeding is good for us northern folks depending on the other parent they should work up here. Plus lately I like having some taller plants.

We have added quite a few last fall and this spring. She sends great daylilies. Even her 2012 intros that were advertised as SFs arrived as triple fans and four fans. All of the ones we received this spring were clumps with all fans attached. I have gone crazy over Judy's tall TET Unusual Forms and plan to hybridize with them this year. I have even made a bed just for UFs that I will use for hybridizing. These are the Judy Davisson's that we have:

It is highly likely that you will get rust if you buy from southern growers. I have had a bit of rust(maybe on 3 or 4 plants) for the last 2 years. It always shows up in late summer, but in spring because of our cold winters, it doesn't survive. So, I am no longer worried about it.

A friend has "Loud Girls" and I just love it. He gave me a tiny fan and it has grown large enough that it ought to bloom this year.

I love "Little Big Ears" and hope it becomes more available (so price goes down!)

Wow Doris and David you must have lots of space or be a sales garden to add so many. My space is limited and I don't intend to make more space there already is enough to keep up with. Please post some photos when they bloom. I do have the Daylily Addict all the volumes Charlie produced will have to watch that one again.

I only have a couple of hers

Riot On The Kindergarten Bus which did not bloom last year , but has many buds this time. I am really looking forward to seeing it.

She also sent Mr. Butters as a bonus plant, it too was nes last year and did not bloom.

I also bought two of her unnamed seedlings which did bloom last year. I really like them.

One was a great orange: Davisson Seedling 2327
Here it is from two different days last year:

The other was Davisson Stippled Seedling

Betty, we had to get rid of some to make room for Judy's daylilies and I had to move daylilies all around to open up this unusual form bed. I did this last fall when I should have been planting daylilies that had been in pots for months. We have been needing to downsize and still do more so. We have run out of room, but I seem to manage to find a small space here and there for another small bed. I have just found another small area for some dips still in pots. It is getting harder and harder to find these spaces!

Everytime I saw Judy's on the Lily Auction I was drawn to them, but they always went for more than I wanted to spend. Then one day last summer I decided that I wanted to hybridize for tall unusual forms because that was what I am most drawn to. (I like all daylilies!) Who better to get stock from than Judy! I started by buying what she still had for sale last fall, picked up some others that she used in her program (and we already had some of those), and added more from her this spring. I am looking forward to hers blooming in the next month. I will share pictures.

I grow some of Judy's also. She is a delight to deal with and has always sent wonderful plants. I am looking forward to seeing Carolina Cool Down bloom for the first time this year and another that escapes me at the moment (ha! no memory and no spreadsheet on this computer!).

I have RIOT ON THE KINDERGARDEN BUS and it is a beauty. Blooms early here. But mostly I have a lot of late and extra late ones from Judy. Both her own intros and seedlings that she sells on the Lily Auction plus late bloomers that she grows from other people. I got a bunch of new ones last fall so I can't wait to see them bloom this year.

Got my last daylilies for this year in two big boxes from Judy. Two of her's Early Shirley blooms very early ordered this in memory of my sister and High Water Mark like the munson style water mark. Plus five that she sold on the lily auction from other hybridizers and she sent a very nice gift plant. They are all soaking and will get planted soon. I am so looking forward to the next bloom season. Hilarious!

Some of hers bloomed this year that I got in spring but I know next year they will really start showing off. I know some folks in my region and nearby states that grow some of Judy's so I couldn't resist and had to add some of her beauties to my garden. I knew that you have some of her plants and have posted pictures of them which helped wet my appitite to get some.
