I'm curious, what does the word "poring" mean in your subject line? Your Wax Plant (Hoya ranauensis) has pretty flowers and I really like those leaves! We have zero photos of that one in the database so I hope you will consider adding one or two pictures.

I've had a few Hoyas over the years without any detectable scent; one in bloom right now is Hoya 'Ruthie' which has very pretty flowers but absolutely no fragrance!

I don't know Lin, but that what it says in the tag it came with. Maybe, it means " species" ? Just guessing really don't have a clue.

Regarding the Hoya ranauensis: I just did a bit of googling and learned that Poring is an area in Sabah, Malaysia which is where Hoya ranauensis was apparently first discovered. So, the "poring" name on your plant tag is in reference to the area in Malaysia where that particular species of Hoya originated but it is not actually part of the scientific name, which would is:

Genus: Hoya
species: ranauensis
