My peperomia rosso has been doing extremely well for months but suddenly (perhaps within a matter of three-four days) some of its leaves have started turning golden-yellow.

Peperomia before:
Thumb of 2018-11-05/Araceae/e256b2

Peperomia now:
Thumb of 2018-11-05/Araceae/8f5665
Thumb of 2018-11-05/Araceae/c30ddd

Someone please help! This plant means a lot to me as my significant other got it for me! (I do have a failsafe just in case though, as I have a very successful cutting just in case).

THANK YOU! I tip my hat to you.

Did you repot and if so, what kind of potting mix did you use?

Where is it located relative to the nearest window?

What has been your watering routine?

Is your local tap water on the hard side?

I repotted it many months ago and it was fine for a while. I think it is African Violet mix?

It is located probably four inches away from a southwest facing window (but sunlight gets blocked by a house for much of the day).

I water pretty infrequently, probably once every week and a half to two weeks.

Not sure about the tap water - I haven't killed many plants with it but it still may be sensitive?
I am located very close to NYC if that helps in knowing tap water quality.
Thanks @WillC you're always very helpful Green Grin!

I suspect that the problem is caused by too much sunlight. Your plant needs protection from any direct sunlight at any time during the day. Move it to a spot that is just beyond the reach of the sun at any time.

NYC tap water is fine, but I don't know if you are part of the NYC reservoir system. If you are unsure about your water quality, then use filtered or distilled instead.

Allow the top half inch or so of soil to get dry and then water thoroughly. I can't tell you how often that will be, but do pay attention to the soil dryness so you water it as needed.

Glad I can help!

Hi @WillC, just wanted to update you, the plant is doing great - have been keeping it away from direct sun. Interestingly, it still has some of the yellow leaves (they never dropped off). Probably just sun bleached lol!

Thanks for the update, Aaron. Once leaves become discolored, they never recover their green color. I would just trim them off.
