Would love some advice about planting large numbers of tulips with different bloom times and heights in zone 6. I have Emperors, (early blooming, 14-18"), Giant Darwins, (mid-spring, 20-24") and Rembrandts, (late spring, 18-20"). To look their best, and for the most extended show, should they be planted according to height, with Darwins at the back, Rembrandts in front of them, and Emperors in the very front? Or by bloom time, with Darwins in the middle? I worry that if the Darwins are in the middle row they'll block the shorter tulips behind them. There's probably some well-known gardeners' rule about this, but I don't know it, unfortunately. Many thanks in advance for any help!

Not a lot of tulip experience here but I would go with tallest in back- though there isn't a lot of difference in height there and you're probably OK either way.
Plant it and they will come.
