I missed taking photos of my Bluebeard's Ghost (Here's last year's photo) .

and Looking So Fine (It's very new, and as yet has no image in the database, so see https://www.mid-americagarden.... ).

But I finally today got my camera's battery charged up and got out there to start taking photos.

A few days ago, Starwoman (thanks, Pam) opened first bloom, and today it looks like this:

Yesterday, April 30, Daughter of star had opened its first few blooms. Last year was its first bloom year, with scant bloom on short stalks. But as you will see, it's coming into its own. Thanks so much, Andrea!

And today, NavyBlues opened its first bloom (thanks again to Andrea):

Daughter of Stars is one of my favorites.

My last bloom just folded, it bloomed since early April.

Daisy,
Glad to see Daughter of Stars and Navy Blues are doing well for you. My Navy Blues, which is usually very floriferous, only put up one stalk this year. Shrug!

Nice pictures, Daisy! Thumbs up

I divided my NAVY BLUES last year... no sign of bloom yet. My DAUGHTER OF STARS is somewhere out in the Back 40, if the gophers haven't gotten to it. It's on the SAR list. Rolling my eyes.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

It's down around 50° today, but I can see from the kitchen window that a dark purple self has opened first bloom. It's probably Royalty Remembered, but it's too cold for me to go out there, verify and take a photo. Had to turn the heat back on in the house, and am sitting under my electric throw. Hopefully tomorrow will be a smidge warmer so I can get out there and take a picture.

The west's cold snap has reached us here in the east. It has been cold and rainy here for the past three days. I can look out and see that Champagne Elegance has opened blooms today, but I have not wanted to venture out. The Lumix cameras do not take kindly to even the smallest amount of mist. The electronic viewfinder of my last Lumix was destroyed by just a few minutes exposure to mist. So I am not chancing it with my new Lumix, despite the company's claim that this newer one is more water resistant.

Yikes, Daisy, I can't blame you for not wanting to risk your camera!

We only had rain on Saturday (forecast originally also said Sunday), but what we got was welcome. So hopefully it will dry out for you shortly!

I can't believe it's still raining out there! I looked out and think the first blooms on Tullyherron and Going Dutch have opened. it with the rain, I still can't get out there with my camera.

On the bright side, the grass is green, green, green.

I have nothing but heavy rains for days.
My iris have taken a beating!
I have had to stake up 7 or 8.
My oldest son is coming in today from New York for Mother's Day.I had hoped to have a lot to show him,but my iris are looking pretty ragged and beat up.
Most are pretty sad looking. He is an avid gardener, and I have gotten him into iris. However, nowhere near like me and my iris addiction Whistling

How terribly disappointing, after all your work digging new beds, not to mention the expense of all those introductions!

It has been raining and cold for days. But today we have a little sun. Beverly Sills and Vanity have opened first bloom, but I opted not to take photos of them because they are puny, and on top of that, the later has some deer tooth holes.

As I came out the front door, I couldn't resist getting a photo of our azalea spilling bloom through the porch railing.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/56ce22

Coming around to the side yard I saw first bloom of Dusky Challenger, a little beat up by the rain.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/fe4541

Then, coming around the tool shed, I saw first blooms of White Cap peony.

Then to the end-of-patio garden, where Golden Panther is loosening its petals to open (tomorrow), and Champagne Elegance is pretty beaten by the rain. But Hollywood Nights has a nice bloom.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/de5023

Then, at the head of the main garden, Tullyherron now has multiple blooms.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/b6ea90

Then Queen's Circle has its first bloom out.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/5d217b

And Absolute Treasure has its first bloom out. It's cool out today, so it's bluer than when it's hot
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/e4c6d1

Then Royalty Remembered. I really like this one.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/8a1587

Next, Another bloom on Going Dutch, but it's slightly damaged by all our rain
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/ac2971

Then Rustler. This one was poor weak stock sold me several years ago, so this is its first good bloom in my garden. I love it! An oldy, but definitely a goody!
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/dc7e89

Next, gigantic blooms of Yaquina Blue, despite being in the deep shade of the huge maple tree. No, I never got the maple taken out.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/56455f

Then, seedlings of digitalis starting.
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/d14397

Moving around to the other corner garden, this is one of my last blooms of Navy Blues
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/2979d1

Now my first two Siberians are starting:
Over in Gloryland
Thumb of 2024-05-11/DaisyDo/0546a2

and an NOID similar to Ceasar's Brother, but not quite the same as the one I have labeled as that, which won't open for a day or two more.
