Hi everyone, (and sorry for my English).

This is my small terrace. It is a terrace with 5x4 meters that faces east very close to Valencia, Spain, Europe, close to the Mediterranean sea.

We have lived in this house since 2019 and little by little we have been adding plants. Some came from the previous house, others come from cuttings, some have grown spontaneously and others are from a nursery. I water it with a watering can except for the month of August when I spend it outside and turn on the irrigation.

For my taste it is too colorful, but my wife (who is the one who chooses the color of the flowers and many of the plants) loves it that way. And "happy wife, happy life." At this time the regal geraniums are the kings of the terrace. The zonal geraniums on the railing flower profusely all year round. The one that is now a little dingy coming out of the winter is the wall that faces south. In a few days we are going to put a curtain the color of the hammock fabric on the laundry room door (that ugly one between the planters). But hey, I will talk more about the terrace in future posts with more photos that I will update.

Thank you very much for reading me!

Welcome to the site escujo28!

Looks spectacular to me! What is the plant on the wall?

Yes, I love sitting in the hammock with a tea and a book or sitting and working on the laptop on the weekends.

Thank you so much Jillz!! Smiling

This is the story of my regal geraniums. Three years ago I considered putting a planter that I had left over from the previous house in the bathroom window that overlooks the terrace. Being a wall that faces north with little direct sun (it receives the first rays of the day) I thought of putting regal geraniums in it since I had read that they want less sun than the rest of the geraniums and I had them under the radar for a long time since I was impressed with the depth of its colors. Furthermore, in the nursery I have near my house they produce them in large quantities and in many varieties. So I put two orange flowering geraniums in a small, narrow 50x17x12 planter. In short, they lost the flower and my wife scolded me for taking that away from where it looked like two pieces of lettuce πŸ˜† (and it certainly was). But they stayed and, the following year, things changed quite a bit. It is seen that they were there so comfortable that they grew leafy and bloomed brutally and of enormous size. My wife is already happy. From the street they looked like orange hydrangeas... (I attach a photo of this year comparing a flower with a tennis ball so you can appreciate the size). In addition, several children came out of the pot, of which I took 2 and I have given one to my mother-in-law and another to my grandmother. Therefore, seeing that they grew up so well, I decided to also put regal geraniums in the planters that I put last year on that same wall on both sides of the laundry room door; we chose purple ones.

This is the 3rd year that the orange ones have been around, I haven't pruned them yet and the truth is that they are already too long-legged and the soil in the container is very caked (what a patience to water it), so in autumn I will have to either prune them or replace them (with how close the nursery is to me and how cheap they have them...). What do you advise me? In autumn I got a little confused with the geranium drill (🀬🀬🀬) and several affected stems have not bloomed this spring.

The purple regals have been there since last spring and the poor ones suffered two strong hailstorms last summer that their young stems could not withstand... they were sad... but now they are quite recovered.

Tjank youbfor reading this loooong post. I put some photos of them in recent weeks:

Hi everyone πŸ‘‹

This weekend the succulents gave me a surprise and started to open flowers. I had a terracotta-like bowl from a citronella candle from the summer, so in the fall I made a hole in it with the drill and took some succulents from the bazaar and the nursery, plus some that grew spontaneously in the planters (the ones with white flowers) and I transplanted them together. They have been through the entire winter and autumn and they are still doing very well, I hope they can withstand the sunshine and heat of summer. I have been watering them by immersion from time to time and every week since the temperatures have risen. I Will post more images when more flowers. Thank you for reading!
