Your plant looks like a variety of
Dieffenbachias (Dieffenbachia) and it has a resemblance to both
Dumbcane (Dieffenbachia 'Sterling') and the very similar looking
Dumb Cane (Dieffenbachia 'Green Magic')
My observation from your photo is that the soil appears quite dry. The soil should never be soggy wet or extremely dry, it should be consistently damp throughout. When watering you should thoroughly saturate the entire soil mass until water is freely exiting the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot and all excess water should be allowed to drain off before replacing the pot onto the tray. In 7-14 days check for moisture by sticking a finger an inch or so down into the soil and if it still feels damp/moist at that level wait a few days and check again before adding more water. In deep pots you can gently push a chopstick or wooden dowel into the soil and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes or so and if it appears damp after removing, wait a couple of days and check again. When to water should be determined on how long it takes for the soil to dry somewhat at root level and that depends on the type of soil/substrate, room temperature and available light. The ideal is to try and keep the soil just damp throughout.
