Hi all, first post-thanks in advance for any help!

I have three Stromanthe triostar plants and they all have these long stems with a bunch of leaves at the end. I can't find any photos on Google of this sort of growth but assume it's normal given all my plants do it? The leaves at the end are starting to fade and new ones don't appear to be coming through, do I just cut the stems back to ground? Or is there a node somewhere I should cut to (I can't see one)

Thank you!

Yeah, both Stromanthe and Ctenanthe do this.
In nature the whole plant becomes a mass of tall stems; some flop over and root into the soil. If you want to cut them off it won't hurt them, and they root easily in water (I would leave them). If you want to cut off the long shoots, do it at the base, then trim the top just below the fan of leaves, and stick them in a cup of water. They root fast.
It looks like yours have suffered a little water stress; you may need to water and feed more often.

Thank you! That's really helpful.

I'm working on watering and care. It struggles in the winter in a cold room that gets very warm when the fire is on but it's getting well now.

Yes that is the more mature form of the plant. If planted outside in a climate that is sorta frost free they can get 6 ft tall
