We had rain yesterday that was trying real hard to turn into flakes, So now snow officially here. YET. We;'re looking at light snow for Thursday evening. I'm hoping that it doesn't happen then either,. I don't like driving in snow or ice. Makes me nervous and jumpy. It hasn't really been too cold here. A lot of 40's so far this month. This week has be 30's during the day and 20's at night. Like I said they are showing snow flurried Thursday and then 40's by Sunday. This is such strange weather. Started out with a goofy spring, then summer was strange and the fall was exactly of the norm......... Now Dec??????? Would be nice if ie stayed like this for a few years and they upped my zone to zone 6 instead of 5................. Green Grin! Big Grin Green Grin!

We had rain a few days ago and most of our snow is melted. There is no making me happy, I like having the pretty snow especially at night with the Christmas lights...but I don't like it when it is on the roads Grumbling

That is how I am. Woke up to a dusting of snow on the grass. Took Ed to work, turned the corner and car wanted to keep going.in a circle. Now Ed says well I got to work without dying just cross fingers for when you pick me up, Smart Alec. I, he knows how intimidated I am by snow of any kind when I'm driving. He likes to pick on me. Thirty even twenty years ago it didn't bother me to drive in snow but now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I hear you Cherie. It is hilly where I live...you can't get any where without encountering hills...so I worry about getting up the hills...and then I worry about sliding down the otherside...

The sun has melted it off at least for the most part. Still snow on the front walk to the porch, but that is on the north side and we seldom use the front door so all is good. Sure glad it didn't really amount to much but maybe a 1/4 inch. Can still see green grass quite a bit so all is good. Mild temperatures for the umcoming week with possibility of flurries Tuesday and Wednesday. As long as that is all it is flurries and a dusting I am good to go.

We've had rain for 2 or 3 days now with some snow predicted by morning. How much accumulation is uncertain. At least I'll be home tomorrow. What time I get to work on Thursday will be determined by the amount of snow we get. I have to go in sometime Thursday as that is when we turn in our timesheets for the next paycheck!!

Big PRAISE THE LORD today. An attorney in town gave me about 15 or more large yard size trash bags of shredded office paper. I'll use it for bedding in the birdhouse. Not all plants like the acid from the cedar chips and I have to buy those. The paper isn't acidic and it's free. This will make the bedding about 4" deep by the time it packs down and he says he will have about 2 or 3 bags every couple weeks. It should work great for mulch and maybe a worm bed. I know there will be thin strips of the paper all over but it will be better than newpaper size sheets that some times get away when they dry out and I don't have something on top of them.

GOD bless and keep each of you. May you have a blessed and joyous Holy Day.

Another huge blessing the other day. 3 or 4 truckloads of freshly shredded trees that a local company trimmed from under the electric lines around here. More to be done soon.

GOD bless and keep each of you.

Leaflady,
Awesome on the shredded paper and the mulch! You won't be weeding much this year, LOL!

Besides. It can't look worse than the day I took one feather pillow apart to stuff into another. These were real chicken feathers from old pillows I slept on when I was a teen. Yep, pretty colorful yard for a while. I don't have the pillow anymore. It got so rock hard that I composted the feathers.

We got rid of the wind we had for two days. It's cold, but warms up, starting today. And we have sunshine. Haven't seen that for a while.

The walk is a good idea, will have to do that myself today or tomorrow.

We also get our cats outdoors when the weather is this nice. They like to sniff around the backyard and go check out the catnip plant...there are still some green leaves in the middle of the plant Smiling

It has been s mild here that when walking around outside this weekend I noticed on one of my Twist n' Shout hydrangeas leaf buds are beginning to swell. Then Saturday night it got down to the lower 20's but they are forecasting a high of 50 tomorrow, What?????????????????/ This is January in Wisconsin??????????

Crazy is hardly the word or the weather we are having this winter! Temps are suppose to drop dramatically tonight. I should have put the old cat outside this afternoon but I didn't. She spent the afternoon starting intently out the window at the birds at a feeder just a few feet from the window.
