Dave, If we delete a plant from the DB which shows members have the plant, will there be a prompt to "move" the have to the correct entry?

Good question, Evan. The answer is no, there will be no prompt. If the plant is removed from the DB, then the entry in the plant list becomes a void entry. That's a bug that I will need to address when I get back in front of my development computer. (I only have access to my laptop for the next couple days).

And you still find time to keep tabs what with server switching and all. Amazing!

At last I installed FireFox, created a "List", and had added two plants to it in about a minute. The only delay was searching for plants and narrowing down to the cultivars I wanted.

I guess I'll get faster at that, I have done very few database searches yet ... I'm used to separate entry fields for genus, species and cultivar (and common name) , and scanning partial search results from that. Is there a separate search engine here for that kind of data entry habit?

I think the "Have seeds" categories will be very convenient as I get used to them. And suddenly I'm motivated to learn how to root cuttings - instead of rot them.

P.S. About the distinction between "trade seeds" and "sell seeds" ... which would I check if I'm willing to send something for postage or gratis? I've been checking both where I have plenty of the seed in question, even though I usually wouldn't "charge" more than postage.

OR ... when we check "sell seeds", are we implying that we're a retail business?

The "for sale" checkbox is if you are a retail business. The idea is that these lists let businesses show their own inventory of what they offer for sale.

For you, for a plant available for postage alone, I think I would check off trade. (You are trading the seeds for a SASE, I suppose.)

Oh, now that is a good idea! It would be nice, tho, if the database differentiated between who had a plant for sale as opposed to trade. Is that a possibility?
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

It does and it shows that once you click to see the list of who has what plant.

Rick, for me, I do a quick search often using just a cultivar name, I am usually looking for either a rose, daylily or iris so that works. If I get too many options, which is usually the case if the name is real short, 2-3 letters, then I precede it with a genus name to narrow it down.

Hmm! Just genus and cultivar. I guess "the search enigne knows which is which".

It easier just to copy-paste one line, but I got into the tri-partite habit ... I should be able to get used to doing it an easier way!

I'm removing the "sell seeds" checkbox from my lists. Lucky for me, once I CREATED my list at home using FireFox, I can EDIT my list from work using IE7.

... however, the buttons for "add a plant to your list" still do not work for me from IE7.
