I had a small dinner party Saturday evening, served Lasagna, salad, roasted caramelized carrots, steamed mixed vegetables, garlic bread, and Bananas Foster for desert. Merlot was flowing freely.
Last night I was invited to some friends to celebrate "Día de Los Tres Reyes Magos" (Three Wise Kings Day") Dinner was a pot luck of many Mexican foods, but the highlight of the evening was sharing of the Rosca de Reyes, which is a round sweet bread that had embedded in it several plastic baby Jesus replicas. The first person who gets the doll in his or her piece must host a party on February 2, Candelaria Day.
As a child, we always kept our Christmas tree up until "Three Kings Day" (or Epiphany) but we didn't have any celebration for the day, other then going to church.
