I have started my coleus hunt for the summer. Some years I have a large selection some years no selection.

I refuse to pay the price of online stores and add shipping it is higher than I am willing to pay for a annual. I have never been able to keep a coleus through the winter so the online store cannot charge me perennial prices for annual.

If they charged 2-3 plus shipping they might would get my money but 5-6 I will not pay that price.

Okay I am done with my price rant. lol

I'm a coleus fan too. I have the original one that I started in fall, but that's all. It didn't look that good in winter, and I didn't start any more cuttings from that one. Now I wish I had.

Yes I sedona and kiwi fern. Those are the only two that had names.

I purchased Kiwi Fern 8 years ago and I have not found one as pretty as that one. It had red around between the purple and green.

Has anyone seen another fern that looks like Kiwi Fern but has a bright red in the mix? I think I still have a pic of it I have to look through my old files and see if I can find it. Maybe it was miss marked.

Okay Allison, I wish I could find it again, I got so many compliments on it that year. It grew very large that was a piece I broke off to give to a friend because she was over my house and begged for some.

It was labeled Kiwi Fern but I have never had a KF with these colors since and I have looked. If you go to Rosy Dawn it is the color that they picture KF should look like but in fact when the plant you get does not have these colors now.

My thought is it has been breed over and over that it has lost the true colors it began with.

was thinking el brighto but wrong leaf shape.. you could be right about being breed out.. but I don't know every single one by sight.. the ones I grew over the years I can usually spot & remember.. maybe someone will come around and know what it is
