A number of members will be offering a free box of Hen and Chicks and related (sempervivum, jovibarba, orostachys, and sedum) for postage this year. This thread offers suggestions on how this will take place. Ultimately, the person shipping the plants to a requester will have final say on how this happens for the people they ship to.

a) Free semps will generally be offered after the initial round of trading has had a chance to take place. Please allow shippers a chance to make trades to enhance their collections before they get down to offering boxes of semps for postage.

b) Free boxes of plants will generally be offered only to those that have not previously received a box of free plants under this offer and generally be offered to new members that have joined since the last offer was done. If there is sufficient supply, we may offer to those that have previously received free plants and to older members. However, previous recipients may need to wait until new members have been serviced. You must be an established, active member of this forum prior to this offer to be eligible for this offer. This limitation is made to protect shippers from excessive requests.

c) Shippers will generally try to avoid duplication if recipients can supply a list of what is in their collection. However, what is shipped and the quantity shipped is solely up to the shipper. Recipients should realize that shippers' collections very in size and quantity of available plants to share, so amounts per box will vary for a given shipper and vary among the different shippers.

d) Shipper and recipient will agree on method of payment of postage. In general, postage will be promptly paid when notified that box has been shipped. It is important that postage be paid promptly so other boxes can be sent out.

e) Shippers will maintain a consolidated list of requester's and the shipper that will fulfill that request. Shippers will notify the recipient of shipping when shipping occurs via tree-mail and update the requester list with date package shipped. Recipient will notify shipper upon arrival of package and date when postage payment has been made.

f) Shippers will properly label each plant or group of plants with proper ID, including varietal name. Varieties will be individually packaged to help recipients maintain proper varietal identification.

g) This offer can be withdrawn at any time and without reason. Shippers may participate or not as they wish. It will generally be limited by the amount of plants and time available to the shipper.

We encourage all members to also purchase varieties from reliable vendors and to not just rely on trading or sharing to build collections. These vendors help to make our collections possible and maintain varieties. They deserve our support.

Approximate shipping charges to United States only:
We usually send by Priority Flate rate:
Small (holds approximately 5 to 10 varieties) $5.35
Medium (holds approximately 15 to 20 varieties) $11.35
Large (holds approximately 20 to 30 varieties ) $15.45

So far we have 4 people willing to send out boxes of semps.
The list is posted in the opening post at top of this page.

Any other collectors that would like to participate in helping newbies get started on their addiction, opps, Whistling collection, can sign up here. Or send me a tree-mail and I will add you to the Sender list.

Remember, these collectors are using their own money/time/ and much loved plant to send in these boxes, please send the postage money promptly when they notify you of shipping costs. Thumbs up

Hi Hermit.

We usually send by Priority Flate rate, which arrives in 2 or 3 days. Confirmation number will be provided so you can track your package.
Small (holds approximately 5 to 10 varieties) $5.35
Medium (holds approximately 15 to 20 varieties) $11.35
Large (holds approximately 20 to 30 varieties ) $15.45

The amount of plants can vary due to size of offsets and rosettes. We try to pack as many as possible into the size box you choose.

Oh hermit. *Blush* I'm sorry, I forgot your are in Scotland. The phyto certificate and postage would be astronomical, to say the least.

Sandi I put you and tabby down as shipping to twowee. It's posted in the first post of this thread.

If it's okay with you, I will send to t1nkerbelle.

Hi Shannon. I added you to the list. We will soon match you up with a sending partner. : )

Lynn, I think there's a lot more on Twowee's wish list that Sandi and I don't have. Sandi would know more about that since she's doing to coordinating.
