Thank you so much, Picklepuff and Tabby. Here are the photos of the plants received today. I am testing them in cactus mix and orchid mix together so we'll see how they do.

I have t1inkerbells just about ready to go. We have been having rain again, so it has slowed harvest down.

I got a little pot of hens & chicks at the fall plant swap... fell in love with them (and so did Joyanna, because the little chicks are "soo cuuute!"). Picked up a couple more locally, then ordered a couple more from Santa Rosa... I think a new plant obsessio interest may be underway here.

I'm now obsessively going through the options at Young's... I never knew they came in those larger sizes! Hurray!

I think I'm a little late to the party this spring, but please let me know if I'm not... With a little luck, I should have some offsets to trade next year (or this fall? Is that a good time to split them too?).

Hi Jill. I'm adding you to the list in the first post to this thread. : )

I wouldn't divide them this fall, just let them establish a good root system before winter sets in.

Young's Garden Center has amazing semps and other plants. Can't wait to see what you get from them. Would love to have you post photos of the new Young's plants here so all can see what wonderful plants they have.

That's the thread that introduced me to Young's -- thank you for that! As few as I have now, I'd probably be just as happy with their dozen assorted... but i can't resist trying to pick out my most favorite favorites LOL. That's the neat thing about a "sharing" box, though... you get introduced to somebody else's favorites that do well for them, and those often end up being your personal favorites also!

Hi Jill, glad to hear you're so "interested" in these fun plants! You'll have enough to trade next spring for sure! Thumbs up

Yep, I think you're right... I already got some starts from the ones I got in fall, gave out a couple of S. arachnoideum 'Cobweb Buttons' at the swap last Saturday and also several "noid" starts. My 'Kalinda' from Santa Rosa came with a couple of half-size chicks on it, so I gave one of those to a friend also.

The best thing about swapping and trading is having all these beauties around to remind you of special friends... and the bonus is that if I ever lose a favorite plant, somebody just might have one to share back with me!

I've got them mostly in little dollar store plastic windowboxes at present... I do that with thymes and sedums also, when I'm trying to encourage a bigger clump/plant. I've got an area in mind for a little rock garden border in the perennial bed... been thinking when I'm out there, trying to come up with a good place to show off these little cuties!

I was thinking it would be good to have them in pots over the summer (partly just to make it easier to keep an eye on them, keep them weeded and occasionally watered while they get established), and thought it would be OK to plant them out this fall, as long as I made sure they had excellent drainage, maybe even make some little gritty mounds or berms to plant them into.

Er, I should probably find a "newbie seeks advice" thread in this forum... I think I'm wandering off topic! Rolling my eyes.
