I grew this from seeds that I got that were labelled Geranium bohemicum Orchid Blue. I have since been told that this is not correct. Any ideas??

The plant is approx 9 inches tall, flowers are less than one inch across.

It looks a lot like Geranium pyrenaicum 'Bill Wallis' which I grew from seed, the flowers can vary a little as some have white centres where others don't. I have photos of some flowers, will have to go out and get photos of leaves. They do have the hanging bunches of flower buds like yours. I haven't taken any photos lately but they are in flower now, it's so dull and freezing cold outside here! I'll see if I can get some decent shots of the leaves to compare.

I've taken photos but have yet to download them, the lower leaf which is not near the flowers in your first photo looks spot on the same as mine. The flowers on mine at the moment are much paler and mostly without a niticeable paler centre, as Bill Wallis is grown from seed I guess there will be variations but I'm not sure how this plant was named. It might have been just a good natural selection. Mine were killed off after a very harsh winter 2010/11 but they grew again from seed set about, where happy they will freely seed about which suggests a species. Variations in flowers could be due to weather and soil conditions. I'll put photos on later.

Thanks Janet. It does look like the flowers on yours. Here is another flower picture from a couple of years ago. Are the flowers on yours tiny, too?

When I looked up Geranium Bill Wallis on Google, most of the pictures I've seen don't look like this, though.

Yes the flowers are quite small, the plant grows quite tall too. The photos I took today of flowers mostly look like those on google, but they are the same plants which seed around. We are having freezing cold weather so that might be the reason.

I've downloaded the pics, just have to editt them.

I have a white one too, called Summer Snow, the leaves and habit are the same.

Now you will see the leaf is spot on if you compare it with the first photo, and flowers at the moment like those on a google search! Same plants though.
