A Quick Shade Tip

If your new transplants are getting too much sun, you can put an umbrella over them. Anchor the umbrella handle with something heavy like a concrete block, or drive a stake into the ground and tie the handle to it. You can also pound a length of pvc or galvanized pipe into the ground and drop the handle in.

Your shade is much neater looking than my shade, Vic. I grab whatever's handy- lawn furniture, step stools, upside down laundry baskets. When I finish planting my yard looks like a junk yard.

This came up as a random idea and i am glad as I have been thinking of using an umbrella for some shade this summer, and the PVC idea sounds like it would really help keep it in place.

Thanks, I tip my hat to you.
