Someone was asking about the Himalayan Blue poppies.
I should have told them about the book on these plants.

It is called : BlueHeaven by Bill Terry
The book was published in2009 by Touchwood Editions.

He grows them on the coast of B.C.

thank you!
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

As far as I know they do well in the northeast and northwest U.S., like well drained acid soil, cool weather ... none of which I have Hilarious!

I used to have a gardenweb friend who grew some beauties in Newfoundland. Anybody remember Tiffy?

I tried them too but my zone just gets too hot in summer. There is something wonderful about the northwest climate that makes the Blue Poppy successful there.

Our winter was so severe that many of my OP's just didnt do great this spring.
Pattys Plum just never put up blooms and Royal Wedding had fewer blooms than ever inspite of a winter layer of compost.
