I placed the pot into a basket and then it grew out of the basket. Essentially most of the plant hangs free like a Vanda with huge long bare roots.
Here is the plant last September as I moved things back into the greenhouse.

I don't advocate growing like this, I just do so because it works for me.

It is framed and in a photo show at the opera simulcasts in my Town Hall right now. An 8"x10" with white mat and black mat frame. The markings on this flower are so graphic.

Ursula, what a magnificent photo of your orchids' roots!!! That picture speaks a thousand words to me on orchid habit/growth/culture. Thank you for sharing it.

Kathy , do you sell prints? That's probably the only way for me to possess such a beautiful orchid!
Ursula, I recently got 'Kodama' and it's only a few inches tall, how old is the one in your photo?

Yes, I have started selling pics, but you could grow Cym. Chen's Ruby because it is warm tolerant and I've seen it for sale online several places.

Thanks.
Silva Orchids still has a good size plant of this and at my visit to their greenhouse in January I spotted a seed pod on it! ( I think that was the plant) And these plants bloom when very small, mine did.
There is hope! I will keep my eyes on this.
