The prodigal desert rat has returned from her brief foray into the humid jungles of Tennessee.

I still remember many of you, hope you remember me (well, at least the good parts!). Hope to start hanging around again.

Mmm - I have been so immersed in the return to the desert that I haven't really had time to miss it. It was very tough for me to leave, and I was only able to bring three of the horses with me, so that was tough.

But we found a really nice place here, with little to no landscaping, so I expect to be quite busily happy for quite a while!

As my husband said when I balked at Phoenix summers "Well, you don't like the summers in TN, either, so?" And I will not miss the humidity, the ticks/ mosquitoes/ chiggers and the fleas. I guess it's all a trade off of one thing or another, isn't it?

Hi Boo! - hey, do you ever go to that indoor plant sale anymore? I desperately need some new plants.... left a lot back east.

Welcome Sheryl. I remember you, I think. Were you at my "concrete mirror demo" at my house at Tapatio? (I've moved and changed marital status Hurray! since then) Thumbs up

Where have you landed? What part of (Phoenix)? What brings you back to AZ?

When you get your feet on the ground and really into some landscaping at your new place be sure to keep us up to snuff and the stuff you're planning and planting.

Not many folks who know the summer heat, hard freezes, bad driving skills and men in weird T-shirts choose to return to these parts.

Rolling on the floor laughing men in weird T-shirts! ha! Susie, it's true. Yesterday was a day that was so delightful. It would be wonderful to have a few of those every month.

Sheryl, I moved into a 1000 sq foot apartment with a balcony and don't garden right now other than my containers and houseplants. I'm going to school full time and needed to cut back expenses.

Yup, I was the one who posted the mirror pics and directions on the web. Congrats on your marital change, whichever way it went, lol!

We're up slightly above Deer Valley in a pocket of funky old horse properties - no HOAs, very little paving (commensurate dust, oh well) and just terrific neighbors. Perfect for us. We ended up coming back because of my DH's job - coming back to Phx every month or two was just getting to be too much.

Boo, what is this school stuff about? You gettin' tired of painting - or are you doing painting in school?

I will be sure to keep you posted on my plants, needless to say, I've already been scoping out stuff I want..... oink, oink!

Whooops! I remember Pagancat!

Well, you're in a great place! Dust is everywhere as you know. My friend was at Dynamite and Scottsdale Road. Pretty dusty. Moved to couple of acres at New River less dust.

Wow, a couple of acres - unknown in this city, eh?

Yup, I'm still Pagancat elsewhere - I just tired of explaining the name, lol.

I sure understand about the name explaining thing.

RE the acreage... New River tends to have large lots... little water, however.

You probably know that.

Now, Sheryl, why would you need to explain a name like "Pagancat?" Seems perfectly straightforward to me! Hilarious! Congratulations on your escape from TN. The people we bought our house from moved back there (they were raising Tennessee Walking horses, so it seemed a natural fit), and they moved back to this area less than 6 months later! Rolling my eyes.

Oh, fabulous! So glad, Shannon.

*sigh*

Okay, if anyone is interested in the indoor plant sale, it's on Dial Blvd 1 blk south (I think!) of FLW, in S'sdale.
7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m., third Saturday of the month, so a week from this coming Sat.

I will *so* be there, I am severely plant deficient.

HI Sheryl...I just got back from TN... and GA. Visited my son in Crossville, and one of my daughters just moved to White County right after I left ....I had a ticket to visit a friend in Utah, but had blood pressure problems and had to cancel and get home for medical advice. I'm feeling a bit better...but not "up to snuff" yet. Welcome back!! Jo

Out of state or in? There's certainly a lot in TN, you have to look hard; they're being gobbled up by ex-Florida folks who don't want harder winters than TN has.
