Dave, could we get a comment area just under our name for information about our plant list? There may be some info that pertains to the entire list that you would not want to retype for every plant like, Ship only to the U.S. or list what types of payment you except for sale plant. I would want to add a comment like "If you see a plant you want that is not currently available T-mail me and I will put you on a list, to be notified when it is available". Here is and example.

So maybe a drop down box to choose from? One that you can create what the categories would be?

I just pictured it as a generic comments box that would appear between our names and list. You could put anything in it that you wanted viewers to know about your list. A comment box could be included at the top of each category list page also, so you can make comments that may apply just to that list.

I kind of like Jay's idea. Could it be an optional field, so that members who don't see a need for it could just leave it out?

I love this idea. Sort of like the info box on your profile page.

That will be a nice way to let people know about your trading policies, and such.

Thumbs up

all my plants (except one) are haves. If someone wanted something on my list I'd like to say at the top...after my name and before my list...they should feel free to ask rather then me mark whatever as available.

Janice,

Just don't mark the item as "available for trade", or sale.

Currently, my list is an inventory only list, nothing for trade or sale. That will change in the future, as I get back into trading, but for now, it is only a "have".

This is finished. Here's how to do it:

Go to your Lists Control Panel (Click on the Lists tab, then click on "Manage your own list").

At the bottom of the page, click on "Add or change your list infobox".

Enter whatever you like, and that will be displayed at the top of your publicly viewable list.

I'm a little thick about this: how do organize my plants into categories? I understand how to add a category, I just made one called wishlist. But then how do I get the plants into it from my general list? Also can the categories be managed from an ipad (which is what I usually use) or do I need to use my laptop when fiddling with my list?

Click on the "edit" icon in your list (the one next to the little trash can on the right side of the screen) and it will bring up the screen that allows you to select a category or make other changes.

Thanks woofie. As for the ipad, I don't know if it'll work or not. I should try it with Trish's ipod.
